Travis' Fini Flight

We were busy at the end of May!!

We moved twice in the last week (ah, base housing and its perpetual unavailability...), sold our house in Del Rio, packed and shipped our entire house to Florida, and completed all of our out-processing requirements for the base, so we are ready to move to Arkansas! We head out to Little Rock on Friday, with a few stops in Houston and Dallas along the way.

One of the last things to happen in Del Rio was Travis' fini flight, his final flight in the T-6 trainer. What a great event it was!! He is OFFICIALLY done with the T-6 and is ready to start training on the AC-130. Here are a few pictures from the event:

Some of the wives who came out to the event
Noel, Jean, me, Shana, and Natalie

Even some of Barrett's friends came out to celebrate!!
Elle (3 months with mama Noel) and Trey (7 months with mama Tracy)

Parking the T-6 for the LAST time!!

After he got out of the plane, we sprayed him down with bottles of champagne and tanks of water. This is tradition that all pilots experience at their fini flights. Really, it was just a lot of fun :)

My awesome (and drenched) pilot!!

Congratulations from the other pilots

The three guys Travis chose to fly with in his flight:
Greg - his hunting buddy and good friend from Del Rio
Joey - his assistant flight commander from Aces
and Russ - his good friend from the Academy

Finally! A family photo in front of the T-6 :)
(Barrett wore his camo BDU onsie that Daddy bought him for the occasion!)

A couple of plaques, tokens of achievement, and other various congratulations from the squadron commander...

...and a signed plaque from his friends in the flight room
(This is why he needs his own room at the new house
in order to display all his Air Force memorabilia!)

He even bought flowers for me - what a good husband :)

Our last family photo in Del Rio - a bittersweet moment, but I think we are all ready to move on!
