Fall and Halloween 2012

Happy Fall everyone!!

Our little ninja!
Our nickname for him is "ninja" so we figured it was only appropriate that he be a ninja this year for Halloween! It took forever to find the costume, but it was totally worth it. He was so cute!! He had many chances to wear his costume, too. Almost every event that we went to the week before Halloween encouraged dressing your kids up! He even wore it one afternoon to the grocery store :) We went to a really great event at our local community center, and Barrett really got into some of the games like the ball toss and the duck pond. I bought a few tickets so he could play, and we ended up staying to play for an hour and came home with several prizes! We also went to our weekly playgroup in costume and ended up trick-or-treating through the hallways of the office building!
(No pics since I had to take him by myself to these events...it's either take pictures of a toddler running away or help Barrett be a part of the activities!)

Our bi-weekly library group also had a fun Halloween day for the kids, complete with costumes, candy, a parade, and spooky fun music. Barrett is sitting with Mr. Will, the man in charge of the group. All Barrett really wanted to do was play with the balloons, so I didn't get many pictures here either!

We also went down to the Harbor Walk for a kids' festival they had the weekend before Halloween. There were SO MANY people there, and the kids were adorable!!

The only thing Barrett was really old enough to enjoy this year was the train ride. Next year, though, he will enjoy the trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, face painting, costume parade, etc!

By the time Halloween rolled around, his headband no longer fit. But, he still looked pretty darn cute!

We took him out to a few houses in the neighborhood, and he really got the hang of trick-or-treating. He really liked ringing the doorbells too. But, he got really tired since it was close to bedtime, so he didn't last very long. We met a few of our neighbors, let Barrett collect about ten pieces of candy, watched the Harbor Walk fireworks from the street, and then went home and put the little ninja to bed.

Happy Halloween!
