The Daniels have made it to Little Rock!!
Since we have arrived in Little Rock on May 30th, Travis has been pretty busy with his classes. He has a schedule that changes every day, and he will have a random Tuesday or Friday off, but then has to work on Saturday. We are living in a one bedroom apartment on the base with a baby and two dogs, so space is tight. Travis sleeps on the pull out bed in the living room with the dogs in their crates; the baby and I sleep in the bedroom so Travis' alarms don't wake us up in the mornings and so Travis can study at night after Barrett goes to bed. Barrett and I keep busy throughout the day by going to the base playgroup three times a week, swimming at the pool, taking the puppies on walks, shopping, and playing on the various playgrounds available in our complex. On the occasion that we do get a chance to hang out with Daddy on the weekends, we have been able to do some fun stuff!
One weekend, we headed to the Little Rock Zoo. Barrett LOVED watching the penguins swim around in their tanks, so we sat there for a good 20 minutes to let him enjoy them!
There were lots of animals to see at the zoo - all of them were out and prowling around in their cages. Barrett loved the lions, especially when we roared for him. He liked watching the giraffes and rhinos wander around, and he loved watching the otters too!
After lunch, we went on a train ride around the section full of goats, ducks, chickens, etc. Then we passed by the monkeys and gorillas on our way out of the zoo. Overall, a great day!!
The base has a HUGE lake out by the back gate, so on another weekend, we took the puppies out to play in the water. They had a great time fetching their ball/water bottles out of the lake, and Barrett had fun watching them and eating Cheerios.
Watching the ducks swimming in the fountain
Walking the red carpet, just like the ducks!!
(Somehow, we lost a shoe...)
On another day, we went to this really cool place called the Willow Springs Water Park. It's a spring-fed pool that they have filled with fun water toys and things to climb on. The place is huge, and there's even a long water slide on one side of the park! We had a little float for Barrett to float around in, and so we enjoyed lounging around in the water and watching all the big kids play!

Love the new blog JJ! Looks like y'all are having fun in Arkansas so far!! Can't what to see y'all next month!
