We officially left Del Rio, Texas on May 25, 2012. We took our time getting to Arkansas, since Travis didn't have to be there until May 31st! So, we stopped in Houston to visit our parents and Dallas to spend some time with Travis' brother and his family, and then we made our way to Little Rock!
Here was our last playgroup meeting on the Thursday before we left. We met for the "special" occasion (our departure) at a little restaurant called the Sweet Tooth. It's usually empty, so we set up shop in the back and let the kids play after they ate lunch. I love this group of mommys and am really going to miss them all!
From left to right: Noel and baby Elle (3mo), Caitlin and baby Michael (3mo), Jill and baby Killean (15mo), Heather and baby Molly (18mo), me and baby Barrett (9mo), and Pam and baby Sierra (11mo)
Barrett really breaking in his new Britax carseat! He should be able to use it until he outgrows this type of carseat (or up to 70 pounds...whichever comes first!). He also had lots of monkeys to play with while traveling in the car!
While in Houston, we went to Pappadeaux for a celebratory lobster dinner, and the waiter let Barrett see the lobsters we were about to eat. He wasn't really sure what that thing was that was in his face, so he just sat there and stared at it :)
While staying at Diane's house, we walked to a nearby playground:
On the big slide with Daddy
Showing off his teeth
He loves the swing!
Crawling through the tunnel
He's a natural driver...
He looks so mature in this picture!!
(His shirt, a present from Gran-D, says Harvard, Class of 20??)
Our last family shot in Texas!
So, we are officially on the road, in transit and homeless until September! :)
